Everything was simply amazing - from the central location to the friendly staff and adorable cats. The management was incredibly helpful in accommodating my shortened stay, and Jebastian was genuinely the sweetest person ever. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely comfortable and safe during my time there. The hostel had one of the best atmospheres I've experienced all year, with a rooftop that provided a perfect place to relax. The other guests were friendly and respectful, and I never had to worry about my belongings. The food prepared by the chef was both delicious and safe for Westerners. The staff were patient and understanding, even when I needed extra rest due to tiredness and health issues. this is one of the best hostels I have stayed in and I will definitely be returning whenever I visit Chennai. And let's not forget the adorable Little Diwali, the cat who stole my heart during my stay. This connection made my experience even more special.

The rooms at Hostel Gandhi are simply amazing! I stayed in the single room with a balcony, and it felt like my little retreat. The balcony was perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the city views. Everything was so cozy and comfortable, making me feel right at home.
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the shared bathroom. But hey, that's just me!

The staff at this hostel were super flexible and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. The location was pretty close to a Metro station, making it convenient for exploring the city. The A/C in the room was a pleasant surprise and added great value for the price we paid. We were also able to store our baggage after check-out, which was really helpful. The manager was like a family member, taking care of us and making us feel at home. The atmosphere created by the guests was mind-blowing, with everyone helping each other without even asking. The prices and facilities were good, and sharing the space felt like being at home. this hostel exceeded all our expectations and made our trip awesome.

I had an amazing stay at Hostel Gandhi. The location was perfect and convenient for exploring the city. The staff, especially Jebastian, were incredibly kind and helpful. I felt safe and comfortable, even as a solo female traveler. The hostel had a homely atmosphere and I met some great people during my stay. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I loved the little cat, Little Diwali, who stole my heart. I will definitely be returning to Hostel Gandhi every time I visit Chennai.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Behulpzaam personeel, maar gebrek aan accommodaties en privacy. Het hotel voldeed niet aan de verwachtingen, maar het personeel was vriendelijk. Niet aan te bevelen voor een ontspannen verblijf.

We were able to prepare meals for our children without any hassle. The kitchen was well-equipped and clean, making it easy for us to cook and eat together as a family. , the hostel staff provided room service, ensuring that our room was always clean and tidy. They were prompt and efficient in attending to our needs, making our stay even more comfortable. Lastly, the hostel organized tours for guests, allowing us to explore Chennai with ease. The tours were well-planned and informative, giving us a chance to learn about the city's culture and history.
For dads, it would be great if there were more family-friendly amenities or activities available for children.

This place was absolutely mind-blowing! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I felt like I was walking into paradise. The spacious living room was jaw-dropping, and the warm welcome I received made me feel right at home. The dorm exceeded all expectations with its simple yet well-equipped bathrooms and comfortable beds. They had all the necessary amenities like free Wi-Fi, a shared kitchen, and even a laundry room. The breakfast options were superb, and they were kind enough to accommodate my non-Indian breakfast preferences. The flexibility with check-in and check-out times was a lifesaver, especially for late-night arrivals. The location, conveniently close to the metro and airport, made my stay even more amazing. But what truly made this place special were the people – the helpful staff, the diverse community of travelers, and the friendly locals. This hostel truly understood what it means to create a home away from home.

Good shower and location - only a 10 minute walk from the metro, which takes you directly to the airport. There's a also a kitchen and fridge available for use by guests.
Absolutely terrible mattress and super tiny room; they should have 4 beds in there max, but they squeezed in 6 leaving no room for guest's bags.

I absolutely loved the value for money at Hostel Gandhi, with comfortable and spacious rooms that exceeded my expectations. The location was perfect, close to the metro station and easily accessible from the airport. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast better was having more vegetarian options.

The hostel had an incredible in-house cook with super affordable rates for all 3 meals. The Indian food provided was mind-blowing! The manager was jaw-droppingly friendly and approachable, making me want to come back solely because of his great hospitality. The fellow mates were also super friendly and kind, making it a wonderful place to make friends and explore the city together. The detailed information they messaged me for reaching the hostel was a pleasant surprise. The kitchen was well-organized and there were so many eating options nearby. The kind staff even booked my train ticket and helped me with everything. The rooms and bathrooms were kept clean, and the food was also really good. The management was very patient and understanding, even when I needed to rest a lot due to travel exhaustion and health problems. The chef made clean and safe food for Westerners, and the AC in the room was a relief at night. The rooftop was amazing, and the other guests were nice. I never had to worry about my belongings as the 24-hour security ensured their safety. The hostel offered non-smoking rooms and allowed pets, and there were facilities like Wi-Fi, free parking, shared kitchen, laundry.

I loved how conveniently located the hostel was, just a short walk to the metro that takes you straight to the airport. The property had awesome amenities, like a library and laundry facilities. And bonus, I got a free Indian breakfast!
Oh, and let's not forget the lack of ventilation in the rooms. It was like I was getting my very own personal sauna experience.
